Sunset at the One Mile, Dunwich at Stradbroke Island, Queensland. The colours of the sunset play on the ripples of the water with the yacht in the background. I have gone with the slightly bent beacon to be more true to the actual (don’t think I’ve ever seen a straight beacon).
I have many happy memories of this harbour growing up at the Little Ship Club. So I wanted to depict Moreton Bay in its beauty. Thanks to Petrea Heathwood for the photo inspiration for this piece. The colour palette of apricots, salmon pink and greys would work in both white and cream based walls as well as popping on dark walls.
